Landmark Pinnacle

Steelwork

Landmark Pinnacle, a striking addition to the Canary Wharf skyline, is one of London’s tallest residential towers, standing at 75 stories high. Developed by Chalegrove Properties, this architectural marvel offers unparalleled panoramic views of the River Thames, the city, and beyond. The tower comprises over 750 luxury apartments, along with exclusive amenities such as a sky garden, private cinema, and fitness centre, making it a pinnacle of contemporary urban living. The complex nature and scale of this development demanded precision engineering and innovative solutions, particularly in its structural and safety systems.

Scope of Work:

Deep Steelworks & Architectural, a division of Deep Group London, was engaged to undertake critical structural steelworks and the installation of a Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) system at Landmark Pinnacle. Our scope of work included:

Structural Steelworks on the Roof:

Given the height and architectural complexity of Landmark Pinnacle, the roof required robust structural steelworks to support various installations, including mechanical and safety systems. Our team meticulously fabricated and installed the steel framework that provides the necessary strength and stability for these systems. This involved precise alignment and welding techniques to ensure the integrity of the structure, capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions and the unique stresses associated with such a high-altitude environment.

Installation of the BMU System:

The BMU system is critical for the ongoing maintenance of the tower’s façade, ensuring safety for maintenance personnel and the longevity of the building’s exterior. We were responsible for the installation of this sophisticated system, which included custom-engineering components to fit the specific design and structural requirements of Landmark Pinnacle. The BMU system allows for safe and efficient cleaning and repair operations across the tower’s extensive glass façade, contributing to the building’s overall sustainability and aesthetic maintenance.

Challenges:

Working at such heights posed significant logistical and safety challenges. The installation of heavy steel components on the roof required careful coordination with other contractors and strict adherence to safety protocols. Additionally, the bespoke nature of the BMU system installation demanded a high level of precision and collaboration with engineers and architects to ensure seamless integration with the building’s design.

Outcome:

The successful execution of the steelworks and BMU system installation at Landmark Pinnacle by Deep Steelworks & Architectural has been instrumental in ensuring the structural integrity and long-term maintainability of this iconic tower. Our contribution has not only supported the aesthetic and functional aspects of Landmark Pinnacle but also reinforced its status as a landmark development in one of the world’s most prestigious financial districts.

This project highlights Deep Steelworks & Architectural’s capability to deliver complex structural solutions in challenging environments, demonstrating our commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation.
